(19 Months - 36 Months)

Toddlers are very impulsive at this stage due to their curious nature. Daily activities are incorporated to promote language, develop communication, increase vocabulary and help them to become problem solvers. All children 19 months and older participate in the Pre-K program. The Pre-K program is modified to assist with their development of fine and gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, listening and cognitive development.

Morning activities include: Circle time - Children will enjoy language development, stories, songs, finger plays, Bible story, with a weekly emphasis on a color, shape, letter, and a weekly theme.

Short group activities will be planned daily to include modified reading and math readiness activities. Their attention spans are short and we don't want to discourage them. We prefer to build on their interest. The children will be surrounded with meaningful language to enhance the learning value of each experience. They will be given the opportunity to practice newly acquired capabilities. Activities will include:
  • Sand play/water play
  • Puzzles/manipulatives
  • Play kitchen
  • Riding toys
  • Shape sorting
  • Balls
  • Block building
  • Coloring
  • Beginning cutting
  • Painting / Messy play
  • Dress-up corner
  • Large and small motor skills

An important part of every child’s development is being able to do things by themselves. A big factor of that independence is being able to go on the potty. We will need your assistance. We feel confident that if we are consistent in the classroom and at home, that the children will experience success. It is a joy to see the children grow and learn as we help them develop their God given capabilities.

Daily you will receive an information sheet to highlight your child's day including eating, napping, diapering, needs and special activities. Our teachers evaluate the children formally twice a year and of course daily communication and daily visits are encouraged.
