Our
staff are qualified professionals with degrees in Early
childhood Education. They participate in continuing Educational
classes pertaining to child development. Our staff know
how to foster independence, cooperation, organize play,
group task and problem solving amongst our preschool friends.
At this age
children are beginning to develop special friendships and
will begin to interact with their peers. Teachers will be
facilitators and assist with problem solving. As kindergarten
readiness is a process, academic small groups are introduced
during our Pre-K program. Activities will be modified or
enhanced to meet the developmental needs of children. The
following areas are covered within our curriculum: Reading
Readiness, Math Readiness, Arts/Crafts, Science, Music and
Movement, Practical life and Bible Story. A variety of stimulating
hands-on activities will enhance the development of fine
and gross motor skills, cognitive, social and emotional
development and academic development. Our
preschoolers are also introduced to two secondary languages,
Spanish and French, during circle time and small groups.
Every
morning our preschoolers start off their day with Circle
time which will include stories, songs, finger plays, Bible
Story, show-n-tell, with a weekly emphasis on a
color, shape, letter, and a weekly theme. During small group
time each preschooler will participate in the following
academic activities daily: Reading readiness, Math readiness,
Arts/Crafts and science. Our print rich environment enhances
the emerging interest of writing and early literacy skills.
During free time there is ample opportunity for your child
to explore housekeeping, blocks, manipulatives, library,
art and water table area. Our
teachers evaluate the children formally twice a year and
of course daily communication and daily visits are encouraged. |
