TODDLERS

Freshman
(Age 12 Months to 24 months)

Sophomore
(19 Months - 36 Months)

Our independent and curious explorers love to dump, pour, climb, and slide as they are rapidly growing. Their environment supports their cognitive and physical development through activities that are designed to enhance fine and gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination and increase their communication skills. Due to their short attention spans, short group activities will be planned. Individual needs and development will largely make up the daily schedule. Growth through repetition and interest will allow the children to enjoy newly acquired capabilities. Daily you will receive an information sheet to highlight your child's day including eating, napping, diapering, needs and special activities. Our teachers evaluate the children formally twice a year and of course daily communication and daily visits are encouraged.

Toddlers are very impulsive at this stage due to their curious nature. Daily activities are incorporated to promote language, develop communication, increase vocabulary and help them to become problem solvers. All children 19 months and older participate in the Pre-K program. The Pre-K program is simplified to assist with their development of fine and gross motor skills, eye-hand coordination, listening and cognitive development.

Morning activities include: Circle time - Children will enjoy language development, stories, songs, finger plays, Bible story, with a weekly emphasis on a color, shape, letter, and a weekly theme.

Short group activities - Reading and math readiness activities will build on their interests.  The children will be exposed to  meaningful language to help build their vocabulary and enhance the learning value of each experience. They will be given opportunities to practice newly acquired skills.

An important part of every child’s development is being able to do things by themselves. A big factor of that independence is being able to go on the potty. We will work with you to achieve this goal. We feel confident that if we are consistent in the classroom and at home, that the children will experience success. It is a joy to see the children grow and learn as we help them develop their God given capabilities.

Daily you will receive an information sheet to highlight your child's day including eating, napping, diapering, needs and special activities. Our teachers evaluate the children formally twice a year and of course daily communication and daily visits are encouraged.
