School-age: Before & After Schoool

As educators, it is our goal to provide the highest quality care for your child in a comfortable and caring atmosphere. In the classroom, we strive to encourage the children to build a team-like bond. Many of our activities are group- oriented to promote a unity among the children. Working together triggers an important closeness, which allows the children to grow as friends.

Transportation

Lancaster school district provides busing to our facility from the following schools: Como Park, Court Street, Hillview, John Sciole, William Street, Private and Catholic schools.

Childrens’ Kastle currently is providing transportation to and from Alden Primary.

What does a full day in the School-Age Room consist of?

A full day with the School-Agers consists of a circle time where we “Pray to start the day”, say the Pledge to the American Flag, and do a few morning exercises to get our blood flowing. We have Bible and song time in which we learn about a weekly Bible story and sing fun, worshipful songs to the Lord. We have Art / Science time where we create or participate in fun science experiments. We have outside play and group games as well.

During the summer months, we walk to Keysa Town Park for swimming, provide dance and tumbling classes. For the athletic children soccer, basketball, flag football and kickball are offered daily in our large outdoor fields or full size gymnasium. Your child will also participate in educational field trips throughout July and August. Please click on the following link to view our “Fun Calendar”.

What happens during the Before and After-School Program?

Our staff will put your child safely on the bus each morning. Quiet activities like reading and board games will acclimate your child to the school day.

The After School program consists of an afternoon snack when the children arrive. We have a Bible story, arts & crafts time, sports or large group games outside or in the gymnasium. Our staff will assist your child with homework each day.
